Pocheon-si Signs 'Mutual Growth and Cooperation Business Agreement' with Korea Water Resources Corporation

Smooth Promotion of Public Contest Projects in Dam Surrounding Areas Begins

Pocheon-si Signs 'Mutual Growth and Cooperation Business Agreement' with Korea Water Resources Corporation On the 26th, Baek Young-hyun, Mayor of Pocheon City, signed a "Win-Win Cooperation Business Agreement" with Kang Shin-ik, Director of the Yeoncheon-Pocheon Branch of Korea Water Resources Corporation, at Pocheon City Hall to facilitate the smooth promotion of the dam surrounding area public project.

Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 27th that on the 26th, it signed a 'Win-Win Cooperation Agreement' with the Korea Water Resources Corporation Yeoncheon·Pocheon Branch (Branch Manager Kang Shin-ik) at Pocheon City Hall to facilitate the smooth promotion of the dam surrounding area public project.


The Gyodong Jangdokdae Village Association in Pocheon City (Representative Lee Soo-in) was finally selected in the '2024 Dam Support Project New Local Government Project' public contest hosted by the Korea Water Resources Corporation, securing a project budget of 600 million KRW (300 million KRW national funds, 300 million KRW local funds).


The project, named ‘Gyodong Jangdokdae Village Healing Forest (Healing for REST) Creation Project,’ aims to promote sustainable operation of the rural village and increase residents' income by integrating rural experience villages with the healing industry.


Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “Through this public project, the existing experience facilities of Gyodong Jangdokdae Village and rural healing tourism will be integrated, becoming a new growth engine for the village,” and added, “Pocheon City will continue to pursue sustainable win-win cooperation with the Korea Water Resources Corporation to develop the Pocheon Hantan River, a world-class tourist resource and natural heritage, into the best tourist attraction in the metropolitan area.”
