Participation in Overseas Job Fair Hosted by Youngjin
16 Japanese Companies Hold Job Interviews at Universities
Youngjin College (President Choi Jaeyoung) successfully held the “2024 Youngjin College Overseas Job Fair” at the Meister Hall on campus on the 26th.
Since 2016, Youngjin College has been hosting its own overseas job fair every year?a rare event among Korean universities?with the goal of nurturing “Global Youngjin! Global talents who excel on the world stage.”
An executive from a Japanese company participating in the '2024 Overseas Employment Fair' hosted by Youngjin College is conducting a job interview.
This year’s fair was attended by over 20 representatives from 16 Japanese companies in fields such as IT, electronics, machinery, and tourism, including Hakkou Automation, headquartered in Fukuoka, Japan. They held company presentations and recruitment interviews at Youngjin College, with some companies conducting online video interviews, actively seeking to recruit outstanding talent.
About 200 students from the overseas employment track, including the Computer Information Department, AI Convergence Machinery Department, Semiconductor Electronics Department, and Tourism Hotel Aviation Department, attended the fair. They listened attentively to presentations about the companies’ business operations, HR and welfare systems, and recruitment areas, participated in individual interviews, and were motivated for overseas employment.
The company that drew the most attention among the participants was Hakkou Automation, a specialist in semiconductor manufacturing process automation equipment. Although the company currently has about 100 employees, it boasts a solid technical foundation built over more than 50 years since its establishment.
In February this year, the company visited Youngjin College to secure top talent in advance, signed an “International Linked Customized Education” agreement, and generously donated a 100 million KRW scholarship.
On this day, Hakkou Automation’s CEO Kazuo Ono visited Youngjin’s Bokhyeon Campus in person, introduced the company, and conducted interviews with students from the AI Convergence Machinery and Semiconductor Electronics Departments. He also met with students from the Japanese IT Department in the Computer Information track at the university’s Global Campus.
CEO Kazuo Ono said, “Three Youngjin graduates currently working at our company are highly regarded for their expertise and communication skills, excelling in system design, development, and management. We hope to further expand recruitment of outstanding talent through industry-academic cooperation with Youngjin.”
Kim Taeheon (Class of 2024, newly employed), who accompanied the CEO to Korea, said, “Working at a company with a solid technological foundation is exciting and challenging every day. I am proud to be able to share a message about overseas employment with my juniors today.”
Meanwhile, Youngjin College ranks first nationwide among all universities in overseas employment, outperforming both two-year and four-year institutions. Over the past six years (2017?2022), a total of 632 graduates?including 576 to Japan and 45 to Australia, as well as others to China, the United States, New Zealand, and Singapore?have entered global companies.
This year, the college established the Global System Convergence Department, focusing on AI technology and system control convergence, to further accelerate the cultivation of global talent who will thrive in countries such as Japan and the United States.
Jeon Sangpyo, Director of the Youngjin International Exchange Center, stated, “This overseas job fair will provide dreams and hope for young people and an opportunity for overseas companies to discover excellent talent. We will continue to provide unwavering support so that more students can realize their dreams on the global stage.”
