Gijang County, KTX-Eum Stop Supported by Gijang County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council

"Hoping the Desire for Attracting Ieum Reaches the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport"

On the 26th, the Gijang County Office in Busan announced that the Gijang County Council of the National Unification Advisory Council held a 'KTX-Eum Gijang Station Attraction Performance,' continuing the enthusiasm among all residents to bring a KTX-Eum stop to the area.

This attraction performance was held at the Gijang County Da-Haengbokhan General Social Welfare Center alongside the '2024 Unification Empathy Talk Concert with Gijang Residents.' Over 100 local residents participated, uniting their voices to call for the establishment of a KTX-Eum stop in Gijang.

One resident who participated in the performance said, "Compared to other regions, Gijang County has relatively poor transportation infrastructure, which causes many inconveniences. I sincerely hope that our earnest wish to attract the KTX-Eum will reach the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, and that Gijang will ultimately be selected as a stop."

County Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, "All residents are actively participating to attract the KTX-Eum stop. Until the day the final decision is made, we will remain vigilant and focus all administrative efforts on this goal."

In 2022, Gijang County already completed a feasibility study for attracting a KTX-Eum stop and directly submitted a petition with 141,000 signatures from residents to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

The National Unification Advisory Council Gijang County Committee is conducting a performance to promote the KTX-Eum stop at Gijang County.
