Final Nominees for 'Today's Our Comics' Including 'Gaekkum' and 'Yulli' Revealed

Including 'Daughter Who Looks Exactly Like Me' and 'Sehwa, The Way She Goes'

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Cartoonists Association announced the final fifteen nominees for 'Today's Korean Comics' on the 27th. The nominees include 'Gaekkum', 'Ddok Dareun Ddal', 'Bakjehaneun Sigan', 'Bureudaga Naega Jug-eul Yeoja Musician', 'Sehwa, Ganeun Gil', 'SuheeO(tngmlek0)', 'Aoring Tokyo', 'Yubunyeo Killer', 'Yulli', 'Kasandra', 'Call Me Romantic', 'Punch Drunkard', 'Hemaegi-ui Pigon-gwa Jeulgeoum', 'Hwansang-ui Ani', and 'Hwangje-wa Yeogisa'.

'Today's Korean Comics' is a prestigious award that selects works that well represent the present and future of Korean comics and webtoons. It has been awarded since 1999. Cho Ik-sang, the selection committee chairman, said, "Every year, we have strived to select works that hold the best meaning for our society and culture," adding, "We hope readers fully enjoy the multiple layers and various pleasures that contemporary Korean comics offer."

The five winning works will be announced on the 21st of next month after the third selection committee review. The awards ceremony will take place on November 3rd, 'Comics Day.'
