Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants to Host the 13th Sustainability Certification Forum on July 2

Current Status of Global Sustainability Certification Preparation and Response Strategies for Domestic Companies

The Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants announced on the 27th that it will hold the "13th Sustainability Certification Forum" as a webinar on the 2nd of next month, focusing on the preparation status of global sustainability certification and response measures for domestic companies.


This forum will feature presentations by Jonghyuk Hong, Senior Investigator at the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Jeonghwan Hwang, Partner at Samjong Accounting Corporation, and Jinkyu Lee, Partner at Samil Accounting Corporation. Based on reports from IFAC (International Federation of Accountants), KPMG, and PwC, the forum will examine key issues expected in sustainability certification, review the preparation status of global sustainability certification, and explore response strategies for domestic companies.

The comprehensive discussion will be chaired by Professor Younghan Lee of the University of Seoul, with panelists including Chi-yeon Choi, Manager of Fair Market Division at the Financial Services Commission; Seongsik Kwon, Center Director at the Korea Standards Association; Jungeun Park, Head of Daishin Economic Research Institute; Jaekyung Shim, Partner at Samil Accounting Corporation; Cheolmin Yoon, Director at the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Sangho Lee, Research Fellow at the Korea Capital Market Institute; and Woonghee Lee, Standing Member of the Korean Accounting Standards Board and Vice Chair of the Sustainability Standards Board (KSSB).


Unyeol Choi, President of the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants, stated, "Through this forum, domestic companies will be able to identify necessary matters for preparing for sustainability certification and establish response strategies. We hope it will provide important implications for the future introduction of domestic sustainability certification standards and the establishment of certification systems."


Registration for the forum is available in advance through the popup and notice section on the Korean Institute of Certified Public Accountants website. After the forum, recorded videos will be uploaded to the Institute’s Accounting Training Center and YouTube channel.
