From October 3 to 6
Seodong Life Park and Namgang Sotbawi
Uiryeong County in Gyeongnam will host the 'Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival,' which delivers luck, happiness, and the energy of wealth, from October 3 to 6 at Seodong Life Park, Sotbawi on the Namgang River, and surrounding areas.
The county has set the slogan for the '2024 Uiryeong Rich Rich Festival,' which opens on October 3, as 'Become Wealthy in Uiryeong.' During the festival, the 'Law of the Wealthy,' which promises that anyone can become a happy rich person while exploring the festival grounds, will be unveiled.
Last year, the Rich Rich Festival surprised everyone by attracting a record-breaking 170,000 visitors, the largest crowd in the history of Uiryeong County festivals. This year, the festival will be even more upgraded. The 'Rich Theme Hall,' where you can learn the Law of the Wealthy, is the festival's highlight this year.
The theme hall, named 'K-Buja Land,' welcomes visitors with content that allows them to experience the energy of the wealthy through the major themes of sharing, spirit, challenge, conviction, and rest, as well as education and experiences of the wealthy.
'K-Buja Land' will feature the 'Wealthy Quotes Room,' which contains the philosophy and success stories of entrepreneurs from Uiryeong such as Chairman Hoam Lee Byungchul, and the 'Roadmap Station,' where visitors can follow the life journeys of the wealthy, set goals, and strengthen their resolve. The 'Rich Toktok' lecture series will also be held, featuring five distinguished figures who have reached the pinnacle of their fields through steadfast determination.
This year, the Rich Fireworks Show, themed around wishful fantasies, will continue for four days, not just on the opening day. The Rich Fireworks Show, which carries a special message of hope for becoming a happy rich person, will beautifully decorate the autumn night sky with a nighttime multimedia show.
During the festival, visitors who collect mileage through the 'Stamp Tour' at the festival site will receive a 'Rich Lottery Ticket.' Prizes include Uiryeong Love Gift Certificates and Rich Goods.
The 'Gio Reum Madang' at Seodong Life Park will be transformed into a large-scale 'Rich Play Zone.' During the day, there will be a Strider competition for children and a Rich Supercar Racing competition for families, as well as an expanded Children's Dream Drawing Contest and KidZania Experience Exhibition. At night, the atmosphere will completely change, as the Rich Play Zone transforms into an 'EDM Party Zone' with a massive moving light show that will light up the night in Uiryeong.
The 'Rich Boat Tour,' a luxury sightseeing experience, will take visitors along the Namgang River, the gateway to Uiryeong, to see the legendary Sotbawi Rock and the birthplace of Samsung's Lee Byungchul. Participants will also be treated to a special meal at the 'Rich Big Table,' featuring a wealthy-style lunchbox made with Uiryeong's fresh local specialties.
The festival's most popular attraction, 'Sotbawi Touch,' will be available again this year. Visitors will have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to place their hands on Sotbawi Rock and make a wish. This year, the floating bridge will be wider, longer, and more colorful in design. In particular, time capsule boxes for storing wishes will be installed around Sotbawi Rock. After one year, the time capsules will be opened, and surprise gifts will be given to visitors whose wishes have come true.
The festival's potential as a global event will also be tested this year. Ambassadors from seven countries plan to visit the festival, and families of US military personnel from Pyeongtaek will participate in the Rich Boat Tour. Following the Culture and Tourism Department's promotion of 'K-Buja Tourism' in Shanghai, China in June, County Governor Oh Taewan will also promote the festival during his business trip to the US to develop new markets for local agricultural products.
County Governor Oh Taewan said, "The Rich Rich Festival is spreading the way to become a 'true wealthy person' who is not only economically rich, but also happy, healthy, and full of love. I hope many visitors will come to Uiryeong during the Rich Rich Festival, known as the 'No.1 Wealthy Spot in Korea,' and receive lots of good wealthy energy."
