Hwaseong City in Gyeonggi Province will hold the "1st Hwaseong Village Film Festival" for three days from the 10th to the 12th of next month.

The "Hwaseong Village Film Festival," held for the first time this year, is an event where 10 "citizen programmers" select films to share with residents and transform various village locations such as apartment complexes and cultural facilities into movie theaters for screenings. During the event, "village films" produced and acted in by residents themselves will also be showcased.

The festival, under the theme "What We Abandoned and Created in Hwaseong!", aims to evoke precious values that might be lost or forgotten in the process of urban growth?such as people, relationships, empathy, and community?through the experience of film.

The event will take place at Hwaseong Small Theater, Seonnapjae Village Sarangbang, Kkumjaram Community Space, and Hwaseong City Living Culture Creation Center. Audiences can freely enjoy 10 short films of various genres during this period. The festival will also feature various participatory events such as "Q&A with the Audience" and a "Pop-up Store."

The festival requires advance reservation for participation. Citizens who wish to participate can apply through the advance application link for the "1st Hwaseong Village Film Festival." For more details, inquiries can be made to Hwaseong City's Communication and Autonomy Division or the Hwaseong Village Film Festival Organizing Committee.
