Camp Casey Autumn Friendship Festival Held Simultaneously
Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) will hold the 17th Korea-US Friendship Festival on the 28th at the permanent stage in Hanmi Friendship Square within the Bosan-dong Tourist District.
This year’s Korea-US Friendship Festival is especially meaningful as it will be held simultaneously with the autumn friendship festival of Camp Casey, further strengthening the friendship between Korea and the US.
On the day of the event, various programs such as food zones, experience zones, craft beer events, flea markets, and workshop experiences will be operated, and diverse invited performances including the US 8th Army rock band are planned.
Additionally, famous invited singers such as Superbee, Byun Jin-sub, and Ailee will add to the festival’s enjoyment, and audience participation games are also prepared, allowing spectators to enjoy the performances together.
Since this year’s event is held simultaneously with the autumn friendship festival of the Yongsan-Casey Garrison, visitors can enter the base from 3 PM to 9 PM after ID and security checks. Inside the US military base, live band performances, various games, and contests will take place, and a fireworks display lasting about 10 minutes is scheduled for 8 PM.
Mayor Park Hyung-deok of Dongducheon said, “I hope this event will be an opportunity to deepen the friendship between Korea and the US and to foster mutual understanding,” adding, “We will continue to create events that many citizens and US military personnel stationed in Korea can participate in to revitalize the Bosan-dong Tourist District.”
