From September 23 to November 13, twice a week for 6 hours, supporting high value-added creation in the local sewing industry
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is conducting an ‘Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Smart Fashion Design Education’ program in collaboration with Seoil College.
This education program was prepared to strengthen the capabilities of the local garment industry and enhance its self-sustainability. It aims to transform the local garment industry into a high value-added industry by utilizing information and communication technology.
In August, the district recruited garment companies in the area to participate in the education program, and a total of nine companies were selected.
The education will be conducted twice a week for six hours each session over a six-week course from September 23 to November 13, held at Seoil College’s computer lab and other locations.
The lectures will be conducted face-to-face under the guidance of professors from Seoil College and Suwon Women’s University.
The main educational content includes ▲ fashion design education using artificial intelligence (AI) ▲ pattern and simulation education using 3D CAD programs ▲ prototype development and exhibition.
To assist garment workers who are unfamiliar with digital programs, Seoil College students will provide mentoring, with one student assigned to help every two companies.
Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I hope this education project will greatly contribute to strengthening the capabilities and competitiveness of the garment industry in our district,” and added, “We will continue to provide unwavering support so that the garment industry in Jungnang-gu can transform into a high value-added industry leading the local economy.”
