The Dementia Relief Center at the Uljin-gun Public Health Center in North Gyeongsang Province successfully held the "2024 Dementia Overcoming and Missing Person Prevention Project Wandering Response Simulation Training" on the 25th in Noeum-ri, Geunnam-myeon, a dementia-friendly village, with more than 120 participants including the Uljin Police Station, the county medical center nursing hospital, and local residents.

This training was conducted to establish a resident-participatory safety network system for wandering prevention and to improve awareness of dementia. It not only included basic education on preventing missing persons, but also featured concrete role-playing scenarios of wandering situations and hands-on simulation training with direct resident participation, thereby enhancing practical response capabilities to actual missing incidents.
One elderly participant commented, "I used to worry vaguely about dementia, but after receiving training on missing person situations, I feel encouraged that even if a family member has dementia, we can face it together with care and love."
Additionally, various promotional booths enriched the event, including the Uljin-gun Volunteer Center, "Love's Food Truck," the county medical center nursing hospital, an exhibition of works by Dementia Relief Center users called "Hand Washing View Box," and activities to raise awareness about dementia.
County Governor Son Byeongbok stated, "Through this training, we will strive to increase understanding and interest in dementia patients, establish a cooperative system with related organizations, and take the lead in creating a dementia-friendly culture for the healthy and safe daily lives of dementia patients and their families."
