15 Investment Firms and 41 Prospective Companies Participate
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held the '3rd Gyeongnam Region Joint Investment Consultation Meeting' at the Changwon Convention Center on the 24th to promote investment attraction in the Gyeongnam area.
The event was attended by over 80 participants, including representatives from 41 companies in Gyeongnam seeking investment, 15 investment institutions (VCs and ACs), and officials from startup-related organizations.
The 'Gyeongnam Region Joint Investment Consultation Meeting' is held quarterly to boost investment in the region by establishing a cooperative system among related organizations and targeting companies seeking investment. The event is co-organized by Changwon Industry Promotion Agency, Gyeongnam Technopark, Gyeongnam Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, and Gimhae Biomedical Industry Promotion Agency. In March, it was hosted by Gyeongnam Technopark, and in June, by Gimhae Biomedical Industry Promotion Agency.
The 3rd Gyeongnam Joint Investment Consultation Meeting featured presentations such as an introduction to the defense fund business by Hyundai Technology Investment and an explanation of youth startup investment policies by d.camp (Korea Credit Union Startup Foundation). In addition, successful investment cases from senior companies like Edenlux Co., Ltd. were shared, providing valuable investment information for startups.
In particular, this consultation meeting broke away from the conventional format where companies seeking investment would pitch to investors. Instead, investment firms introduced their fund operations, investment criteria, and trends directly to startups, which was well received by participating companies.
Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "This Gyeongnam Joint Investment Consultation Meeting is a significant event aimed at efficient investment attraction and encouraging investment institutions to invest in Gyeongnam companies," and added, "I hope this will yield fruitful investment results for companies seeking investment, like rain during a drought."
