Introduction of Personalized Banners, Complete UX Overhaul
Nexon announced on the 25th that it will launch the Japanese service of its integrated launcher service, 'Nexon Plug.'
Nexon Plug is a launcher program first released by Nexon in 2005, the industry's first, combining various convenience features such as game installation and quick launch with the game messenger function previously provided through existing game portals, creating a comprehensive game platform.
In response to overseas user demand, Nexon expanded Nexon Plug into a global service, updating the platform overall by adding support for English and Japanese in addition to Korean. The games provided through Nexon Plug were expanded from existing PC games to mobile games, and an app market address and linked QR code for downloading mobile games were added.
The UX (User Experience) was also revamped to allow intuitive checking of each game's features and recent news. Tabs to view announcements and game-related YouTube content were added, along with shortcut buttons to move to console platforms such as Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch. Personalized banners based on individual game play records were also introduced.
Additionally, Nexon plans to continuously update various features, including gradually expanding the application of 'Nexon Link,' the PC-mobile linked remote play function of Nexon Plug, to more games.
Junyong Bae, head of Nexon Intelligence Labs, said, "Through the revamp of Nexon Plug and the expansion of the Japanese service, we aim to provide a more enjoyable and convenient environment for global game users to enjoy games," adding, "We plan to implement rich content on Nexon Plug based on user feedback."
