Starting from the 25th... Operation of 4 Tokbeoseu Vehicles Begins
Three Vehicles to be Deployed in Deogeun-dong, Scheduled to Start in October

Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation's 'Ddokbus' Begins Operation in Hyangdong-dong, Goyang City Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation has been conducting a pilot operation of the 'Ttokbus' in Hyangdong-dong, Goyang City since the 25th.

Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation announced that from the 25th, it will conduct a pilot operation of the ‘Ddokbus’ in Hyangdong-dong, Deogyang-gu, Goyang City.

The official service will begin on October 2, and Hyangdong-dong will become the third Ddokbus operation area in Goyang City, following Gobong-dong and Siksa-dong.

Additionally, in October, three Ddokbuses will be deployed in Deogeun-dong to support convenient transportation for residents.

The Goyang Ddokbus operates around Hyangdong-dong and major hubs such as Hanguk Aviation University Station (Gyeongui-Jungang Line) and Gayang Station (Line 9), providing convenient transportation in areas lacking existing public transit options.

Especially during peak commuting hours (6:00 AM to 9:30 AM and 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM), the route between Hyangdong-dong and Gayang Station is expected to improve commuter convenience.

The vehicles are 25-seat medium-sized electric low-floor buses, with a total of four buses in operation. Operating hours are from 6:00 AM to midnight, with the call service closing at 11:30 PM.

The fare is 1,450 KRW, the same as regular city buses, and integrated metropolitan area transfer discounts apply when using a transportation card. Passengers wishing to use the service can enter their departure and arrival locations through the Ddokta app to call a bus in real time and receive information about boarding locations and vehicle details.

Since starting the pilot project in Paju in 2022, the Ddokbus now operates a total of 206 buses across 16 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province, including the current Goyang Ddokbus.

The Ddokbus, which allows passengers to travel seated from departure to destination without transfers, has established itself as an app-based new transportation mode in Gyeonggi Province, receiving strong support from residents.

Min Kyung-seon, president of Gyeonggi Transportation Corporation, said, “The introduction of the Hyangdong-dong Ddokbus will resolve transportation inconveniences for local residents and is expected to make commuting smoother, especially during peak hours. We will lead efforts as a pioneer of smart transportation to contribute to environmental protection through electric bus operation and provide better transportation welfare to residents.”

Meanwhile, the Ddokbus won the grand prize at the 2023 Active Administration Best Practice Competition hosted by Gyeonggi Province and the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. Additionally, the integrated transportation platform app for calling the Ddokbus, the Ddokta app, received the grand prize in the public service category at the Mobile Award Korea 2024.
