Pyeongtaek City Announces Call for Candidates for Comprehensive Funeral Facilities Including Crematoriums

The city is promoting a park-type comprehensive funeral facility construction project on a 200,000㎡ site that includes funeral facilities such as crematoriums, columbarium facilities, natural burial grounds, mountain burials, and funeral halls, combined with parks, leisure sports facilities, and cultural facilities.

Villages wishing to host the facility must form a hosting committee through a village general meeting and submit an application to the Senior and Disabled Welfare Team at City Hall with the consent of more than 60% of the households registered as residents as of the announcement date. The city plans to provide up to 5 billion KRW in resident support projects to the hosting area, grant operational rights for auxiliary facilities such as restaurants, stores, and cafes, and offer related jobs.

Additionally, the surrounding area within 1 km of the facility installation site boundary will receive 10 billion KRW in resident support projects, and the corresponding eup, myeon, or dong where the hosting area belongs will be supported with 5 billion KRW for long-standing projects. Even areas that apply but are not selected will receive 300 million KRW for village long-standing projects.

The city plans to select the final candidate site by February next year after going through document requirement screening → on-site inspection → site feasibility study → review by the Comprehensive Funeral Facility Construction Promotion Committee for the applicants.
