'ArcheAge' Universe Open-World Action Genre
Targeted for Release in 2025
Kakao Games has confirmed the official game title of XL Games' new online action RPG as "ArcheAge Chronicle" and unveiled new game footage and the BI (Brand Identity) for the first time.
On the 25th, Kakao Games showcased the official name "ArcheAge Chronicle" along with gameplay footage and the BI at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE)'s own new release event, "State of Play," held online.
"ArcheAge Chronicle," a large-scale online action RPG directly developed with the participation of Song Jae-kyung, XL Games' Chief Creative Officer (CCO), is a new title characterized by its free and creative gameplay and the captivating worldview of the original work.
Kakao Games explained that they finalized the official name and BI with the meaning of "Chronicle" to emphasize that "ArcheAge Chronicle" inherits the tradition of its predecessor while maximizing the thrilling progression and the gameplay of the vast open-world action genre.
The video also showcased a medieval setting rendered with Unreal Engine 5 graphics that are more detailed than live-action, and action scenes with monsters resembling moments from a movie, giving a preview of the game's unique grandeur.
"ArcheAge Chronicle" is currently in development with a target release in 2025 and will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
Han Sang-woo, CEO of Kakao Games, stated, "We will strive to present a new genre standard embodying the world of 'ArcheAge' to global users together with XL Games."
