'Global Selling Program' Announcement
Supporting Domestic Sellers to Sell AliExpress Products Overseas
0% Commission and 0 Deposit Policy Implemented for 5 Years
Support Including Overseas Shipping in Cooperation with Post Office and Automatic Translation Provided
AliExpress has launched a groundbreaking program targeting Korean small business owners. The so-called 'reverse direct purchase' service, which sells domestic sellers' products on Alibaba's B2C (business-to-consumer) platforms operating in overseas countries, will not charge any fees or deposits.
On the morning of the 25th, AliExpress held the 'AliExpress Korea Seller Forum' at the Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas Hotel in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and announced the 'Global Selling Program.' The Global Selling Program is scheduled to officially launch in October. Initially, it will target the United States, Spain, France, and Japan, with plans to gradually expand the sales countries and regions in the future.
Through the Global Selling Program, domestic sellers joining AliExpress Korea's 'K-Venue' channel can sell products in the Korean market while also reaching 150 million global consumers on the platform operated by AliExpress, the company emphasized. K-Venue is a domestic product-exclusive sales channel launched by AliExpress last October, operated in a form similar to existing e-commerce open markets. Sellers join K-Venue to sell products, and currently, AliExpress does not charge any listing or sales fees for K-Venue.
In later stages, sales will also be possible through other e-commerce platforms operated by Alibaba Group, such as Lazada. Initially, the program will focus on beauty and fashion categories, then expand to food and K-pop. These product categories are popular overseas.
AliExpress expects the Global Selling Program to facilitate overseas expansion and business growth for domestic sellers, including small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners.
AliExpress plans to minimize the burden on domestic small and medium-sized sellers by guaranteeing 0% fees and 0 won deposits for the next five years through the Global Selling Program. Additionally, it will provide ▲Korean language support programs ▲free multilingual translation systems ▲automated customer service translation to reduce the foreign language burden of global sales.
An environment has also been established to allow sellers to easily use the Global Selling Program. Product registration information can be easily registered with a simple click, which is the same method as K-Venue's domestic listing process. Sellers can choose whether to unify or differentiate domestic and overseas sales conditions, and in the future, an automatic price-setting function by country will be provided.
Settlement for the Global Selling Program will be made within 15 days after the product is delivered to the customer, on a per-order basis. Payments will be made in US dollars through Alibaba Group's payment service, 'Alipay International.' Domestic delivery is supported through domestic logistics partners, and global delivery will also cooperate with Korea Post to reduce sellers' delivery burdens.
Ray Zhang, CEO of AliExpress Korea, said, "There is a growing trend of consumers worldwide seeking Korean products with excellent design and quality. This program was planned to lower the entry barriers for domestic companies or sellers when entering overseas markets," adding, "Through global selling, we hope domestic sellers can expand their sales channels overseas and diversify their businesses without the burden of costs or language."
