Chicken Burger 3,480 Won, Honey Wing Drumsticks 9,980 Won
Aiming at Customers' Taste with Cost-Effectiveness... Own Margin Discount
Emart announced on the 25th that it will introduce the ‘Amazing Deli’ Part 2, the 'Amazing Double Double Burger' that captures both taste and price.
The Amazing Deli series is part of Emart's ‘Star Product Project,’ which aims to develop products that capture both taste and price. The intention is to stabilize grocery prices and strengthen the core competitiveness of offline marts. The first installment of Amazing Deli, ‘Amazing Perfect Chicken,’ sold 400,000 packs within 50 days of its launch.
The Amazing Double Double Burger is a double-type burger with two patties and two slices of cheese. It features domestic patties, cheese, and grilled onions to enhance texture, and a special barbecue sauce to capture both flavor and volume. The price is 2,980 KRW per piece, which is about half the price of double burgers sold in the market.
Additionally, the ‘Amazing Black Tong Chicken Burger,’ which boasts a thick chicken patty, is sold at 3,480 KRW per piece. It uses squid ink bread, domestic chicken breast patties, and grilled onions as main ingredients, and incorporates spicy chili sauce along with American and mozzarella cheese to create its distinctive taste.
The 'Amazing Honey Wing Bongs' (1 pack, 16 pieces), suitable for a family of three, is offered at 9,980 KRW, about half the market price. The wings are fried crispy, coated with sweet honey sauce, and then baked once more in the oven to enhance crispiness and chewy texture.
The products will be sold for about three months from the 26th of this month to December 31. At Emart Everyday stores, the products will be available from the 27th of this month to the 2nd of next month, limited to stores with Emart Everyday branches.
The responsible buyer devoted over six months to develop Amazing Deli. While it is common for new products to have a development period of less than a month, it took a long time to capture both price and taste. The buyer predicted sales of 400,000 units over three months, reduced production costs through large-scale orders, and calculated an appropriate level of internal margin discounts.
Hwang Woon-gi, Head of Emart’s Product Division, stated, “Large marts’ deli sections, which were previously noted only for cost-effectiveness, are now overcoming their limits by combining price and taste, becoming a differentiator in offline distribution. Emart will mobilize all the know-how it has accumulated so far to secure overwhelming core competitiveness.”
