Enjoy Delicious Jeonju Food at Jeonju Festa

City to Hold 'Matjanchi·Matjarang' Tasting Event on 24th

During the entire month of October, 'Jeonju Festa 2024' held at Jeonju Sports Complex will offer a variety of tastes from the gourmet city of Jeonju.

On the 25th, according to Jeonju City in Jeollabuk-do, a tasting event called 'Taste Festival · Taste Pride Preview' was held at the city hall cafeteria to evaluate the representative menus of the Jeonju handmade food sales zone of 'Jeonju Festa 2024'.

This tasting event allowed participants to sample the foods that will be sold at the 'Taste Festival · Taste Pride' corner, which will be operated during 'Jeonju Festa 2024' to eradicate overcharging and enhance the satisfaction of tourists visiting the festival site.

'Taste Festival · Taste Pride' will take place during the second and third weeks of 'Jeonju Festa 2024'. It is a food sales zone operated by four volunteer organizations from the Jeonju area, designed to showcase the diverse handmade flavors of Jeonju.

At the 'Taste Festival · Taste Pride Preview' event, each volunteer organization selected five representative menus, allowing attendees to taste a total of about 20 different dishes.

The evaluation panel, composed of Jeonju Mayor Woo Beom-gi, city hall cafeteria staff, Jeonju city officials’ supporters called 'Jeonju Festa Jigi', and citizen blog reporters, assessed the taste, price, plating, and other factors.

Based on the results of this tasting event, the city will collect various opinions. They plan to do their best in preparing 'Jeonju Festa 2024' to increase the satisfaction of citizens and tourists with the 'Taste Festival · Taste Pride'.

Mayor Woo Beom-gi of Jeonju said, "I hope visitors to 'Jeonju Festa 2024', Jeonju City's integrated festival, will truly experience the taste of Jeonju through 'Taste Festival · Taste Pride'." He added, "We will prepare a meticulous and enjoyable festival that does not overlook eradicating overcharging, hygiene, and convenience."
