Global Hydrogen Companies Gather... 'H2Meet 2024' Opens

The global hydrogen industry exhibition 'H2MEET 2024,' where the latest domestic and international hydrogen technologies and products can be experienced, will be held from the 25th to the 27th at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

Marking its 5th edition this year, H2MEET will be held on the largest scale ever, with participation from 317 companies and organizations from 24 countries. Among them, 104 are overseas companies and organizations. Australia leads with 24 participants, followed by Germany (16), China (10), Canada (8), Switzerland (8), Spain (5), and India (5), among other countries, showcasing excellent products and technologies in hydrogen production, storage and transportation, and utilization.

At the exhibition, hydrogen mobility products such as hydrogen engines, hydrogen tractors, and hydrogen cargo bikes (cargo bicycles using hydrogen fuel cells) from major domestic and international companies will be displayed, along with clean hydrogen production facilities and technologies like water electrolysis and carbon capture, and various hydrogen storage and transportation products including liquefied hydrogen tanks, hydrogen pipelines, and hydrogen charging stations. By company, Hyundai Motor Company plans to exhibit hydrogen tractors and hydrogen fuel cell power generation systems; HD Hyundai Infracore will showcase hydrogen engines; Kolon Industries will present moisture control devices for fuel cells and modular water electrolysis facilities; and Cryos will display liquefied hydrogen tank trailers.

In addition, events such as the 'Leaders Summit' discussing global hydrogen industry trends and the latest technology trends, 'Country Day' introducing hydrogen policies from 12 major countries including the U.S., Australia, and Canada, the 'H2 Innovation Award' selecting innovative technologies and outstanding companies in the hydrogen sector, and export consultation meetings to support the overseas expansion of Korean companies are scheduled.

At the opening ceremony, Choi Nam-ho, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, stated, "I hope this event, which gathers hydrogen industry professionals from around the world, will be an opportunity to widely promote the excellent technological capabilities of our companies and exchange the latest technologies." He emphasized, "The government will actively support the establishment of a hydrogen ecosystem through various policies such as opening a clean hydrogen power generation bidding market and expanding the supply of hydrogen buses."

This year's H2MEET 2024 is hosted by the H2MEET Organizing Committee (Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association, Korea Hydrogen Union, Hydrogen Energy Network, Korea Energy Agency, Korea Industrial Union Forum) and sponsored by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Ministry of Science and ICT, and Ministry of Environment. Starting this year, it will be held jointly with H2World, Korea's first specialized hydrogen exhibition.
