Gyeonggi Province's Goyang Special City (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 24th that it will conduct a public opinion survey until Sunday, October 20, to designate a new "Gyeonggi-type Science High School."

The city has been preparing for the designation of the science high school by conducting research projects, securing a site for the science high school, and submitting a proposal for the establishment of the science high school to the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. Following the announcement of the new designation plan for the "Gyeonggi-type Science High School" by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education on the 11th, the city is making every effort to attract the science high school.

The survey targets all local residents, and the questions cover interest in science education and educational policies necessary for nurturing scientific talent.

Based on the survey results, the city plans to reflect residents' opinions in the science high school establishment policy and aims to establish "Goyang Science High School," the second Gyeonggi Science High School, to cultivate talent in science and technology.
