Uijeongbu-si Wins Excellence Award at the 5th Korea Cultural Value Awards

‘Uijeongbu, a Cultural City That Changes My Life’ Recognized for Its Value

Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 24th that it received the Excellence Award at the 2024 '5th Korea Cultural Value Awards.'

The Korea Cultural Value Awards have been implemented since 2019 by the Korea Cultural Value Research Association (Chairman Oh Woo-sik) to discover outstanding cultural projects of local governments.

This year, outstanding local governments were selected through qualitative and quantitative evaluations of projects and core value implementation by local governments across 8 fields and 7 core values.

The city was highly evaluated for values such as strengthening regional identity, participation, and communication in the 'Uijeongbu City Urban History and Culture Resource Archive Construction' project and the 'Cultural City Creation Project' promoted last year.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun said, "Culture changes the city, and the city changes the lives of its citizens," adding, "We will strive to become a cultural city that changes lives together with our citizens."
