Perspective view of the winning design for the Paju Unjeong 3 District GTX Cultural Park competition. On the 24th, Paju City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it held a presentation meeting for the winning design of the Paju Unjeong 3 District GTX (Great Train Express) Cultural Park design competition on the 23rd, together with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation.
The Korea Land and Housing Corporation, the project implementer for Paju Unjeong 3 District, conducted a design competition in May to create a cultural park in the upper space of the Unjeong Station GTX in Paju Unjeong 3 District and selected the winning design in August. This presentation meeting was organized ahead of the official start of the detailed design phase for the GTX Cultural Park.
On this day, Kim Kyung-il, Mayor of Paju City, along with related officials and employees from the Korea Land and Housing Corporation headquarters, attended to share the selected competition work and discuss future directions.
The Korea Land and Housing Corporation plans to invest a total of 14 billion KRW for the GTX Cultural Park project and intends to actively reflect the "Landmark Park Concept" proposed by Paju City to create a differentiated and distinctive park that can attract external foot traffic.
Paju City held a presentation on the winning design for the Unjeong 3 District GTX Cultural Park competition on the 23rd. The selected competition design features the creation of a park centered around a large plaza and the generation of urban events with facilities such as the "Cultural Platform Runway350" and the "Jeongumul Plaza," which consists of a circular waterfall and a play well.
Additionally, three specialized walking trails, each with different charm and characteristics, will be created, along with the installation of buildings such as a complex cultural cafe and a linear exhibition hall, as well as specialized nighttime lighting.
In June, Paju City signed a business agreement for mutual development of the GTX station area with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and private developers, operating a joint task force (TF) team. They are accelerating the project to develop the GTX station area into a landmark where public and private sectors harmonize.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju City stated, "From the detailed design stage of the GTX Cultural Park, we will establish a close cooperative system with the Korea Land and Housing Corporation and private developers to ensure that the GTX station area becomes the best landmark in the northwest metropolitan area."
