Mr. A said, "A magnet the size of a 500-won coin came out, and it was so absurd," adding, "It is a very famous place, and I have been a regular customer for over 10 years, so I felt my trust in the product management of the company collapse when I found such a large magnet inside the bread." He continued, "When I called the bakery, they admitted that a foreign object was in the bread and offered to refund 3,400 won."

The bakery explained that while making the canele, they place the dough in molds and bake it in the oven, using magnets to hold down paper underneath to prevent it from flying away. One of these magnets accidentally got inside the dough, and the foreign object was not detected during the inspection process.

A representative of the bakery stated, "We apologized to the customer and are currently waiting for their visit," and added, "We will take special care in product management going forward." Mr. A said, "Neither my daughter nor I were hurt, but since someone could have been injured, I decided to report this," and added, "I only hope that a definite measure to prevent recurrence will be put in place."

Earlier in April, a similar incident occurred at a famous bakery in Seoul, where hair-like fibers were found in a cake. Mr. B, who purchased the cake, returned it to the store and received a refund. The foreign object in the cake was so firmly attached that even when a store employee tried to remove it with a fork, it did not separate easily and was partially cut. After several days of on-site investigation, the company concluded that the foreign object was not hair but likely a piece of staff uniform that had fallen and floated in the air, entering the manufacturing process.
