Consumer Agency Quality and Safety Evaluation
All Products Showed Excellent Durability
Differences Observed in Convenience and Price
Among portable strollers available on the market, the FlexTab3 from the Tabo brand was found to have the best cost-effectiveness.
The Korea Consumer Agency announced on the 24th that this was confirmed after evaluating the quality and safety of eight major portable stroller brands. The tested products included Nuna's Travel, Lian's Rev, Bugaboo's Butterfly, Stokke's YoYo2 6+, WiUp's Genie S, Inglesina's New Quid2, Jules' Air Plus, and Tabo's FlexTab3.
The evaluation results showed that all these products had excellent durability and met relevant standards in basic and textile quality, as well as safety. However, differences were found between products in terms of ease of use and price.
By category, all products met the relevant standards for basic and textile quality. The durability of stroller driving and braking devices was also excellent, with no damage or deformation under conditions twice as harsh as the safety standards. Among key convenience features, six out of the eight products could be folded and unfolded with one hand and had adjustable backrest angles. Two products (Rev by Lian and Travel by Nuna) were convenient as they automatically folded when lightly pushed after unlocking the lock with one hand. The sunshade length ranged from 61 to 89 cm, with the Genie S (WiUp) product having the longest, and the FlexTab3 (Tabo) product offering height adjustment.
Regarding the safety of harmful substances in parts that infants can touch (such as seats and safety belt buckles) and the detachment of safety bar covers, all products met the relevant standards. Stability against tipping met safety standards for all products; however, caution is needed as strollers could tip over on flat surfaces when a 3 kg load is hung on a separately purchased handle hook.
There were also differences in specifications, features, and warranty periods. When folded, the YoYo2 6+ (Stokke) was the smallest at 18 cm × 44 cm × 52 cm, and the New Quid2 (Inglesina) was the lightest at 6.2 kg (excluding the safety bar). Four products had the highest number of features, with four each. The Air Plus (Jules) had the longest warranty period, starting at 2 years and extendable up to 8 years upon product registration (excluding consumables such as wheels and seats).
Among the eight products, six incorrectly labeled the mandatory usage age and weight by applying overseas safety standards or omitted continuous usage time, indicating a need for improvement. Product prices ranged from 312,000 KRW to 826,500 KRW, showing a maximum difference of 2.6 times between products. The FlexTab3 (Tabo) was the most affordable, priced at about 38% of the highest-priced product.
