Preferred numbers are phone numbers that have a specific meaning or are easy to remember, and are highly favored by customers, often referred to as "Gold Numbers." LG Uplus has been providing 10,000 Gold Numbers annually through a lottery.
The types of Gold Numbers available for application in this year's lottery event include ▲AAAA ▲000A ▲A000 ▲00AA ▲AA00 ▲ABAB ▲ABCD ▲ABCD-ABCD ▲and 9 types of numbers with specific meanings.
Each person can apply for up to 3 numbers. In last year's lottery event, the most popular type was the ABCD-ABCD pattern, where the area code and the last digits are the same, with a competition rate reaching 230:1.
Customers wishing to apply for the Gold Number lottery can do so until the 8th of next month at LG Uplus stores nationwide or through the official website, Uplus.com. Not only existing LG Uplus customers but also customers planning to subscribe to LG Uplus, as well as users of other carriers and MVNOs, can apply. Customers who are already using a Gold Number or have obtained one within the past year are excluded from the lottery.
The winning results will be announced on the 18th of next month. The winning Gold Numbers cannot be transferred to others, and the numbers must be registered at U+ stores nationwide by November 11th.
