[Invest&Law] International Dispute Resolution System Research Association to Hold Seminar on Building a New International IP Dispute Resolution System on July 7

The International Dispute Resolution System Research Association (Chairman: Supreme Court Justice No Tae-ak) will hold a seminar titled "Building a New International IP Dispute Resolution System" at 3 p.m. on the 7th of next month at the Ruby Hall of EL Tower in Yangjae-dong, Seoul, in collaboration with the National Intellectual Property Committee (Chairman: Lee Kwang-hyung) and the Federation of Intellectual Property Organizations (Chairmen: Jung Gap-yoon and Won Hye-young).


The first session, conducted in a roundtable format, will discuss "The Current Status of International IP Litigation and Response Strategies." Senior Judge Koo Ja-heon (57, Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 26) of the Patent Court will moderate, and Judge Lee Hye-jin (49, Class 33) of the Patent Court High Court will present. Panelists include Lee Jung-hwan (53, Class 27), Vice President of Samsung Electronics; Ye Beom-su, Executive Director of KT (Chairman of KINPA); Han Sang-wook (62, Class 17), attorney at Kim & Chang law firm; and Kang Han-gil, U.S. attorney at Bae, Kim & Lee LLC.


The second session, conducted through presentations and designated discussions, will focus on "Examining the Possibility of Introducing K-Discovery in IP Litigation." Attorney Kim Woon-ho (55, Class 23) of Bae, Kim & Lee LLC (Chairman of KIPLA) will moderate, and Lee Hyung-won, Director at the Korean Intellectual Property Office, will present. Panelists include Judge Kim Ki-soo (46, Class 35) of the Patent Court High Court; Lee Jin-soo, Head of Hurom; Jung Sang-tae (51, Class 41), attorney at Yulchon LLC; and Chae Dong-yoon, U.S. attorney at Kim & Chang.


Prior to the event, Supreme Court Justice No Tae-ak (62, Class 16) and KAIST President Lee Kwang-hyung, Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Committee, are scheduled to deliver opening remarks.


Attendees of the seminar can receive professional mandatory training credits recognized by the Korean Bar Association and the Korean Patent Attorneys Association. Registration can be completed via the provided link.
