Yangsan Senior Job Creation Support Center Achieves First Place Nationwide in Employment-Based Projects

Minister's Award in the Senior Internship Category Hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare

Yangsan Senior Job Creation Support Center achieved first place nationwide in the 2023 Employment Project (Senior Internship) evaluation.

Yangsan City, Gyeongnam received the Minister of Health and Welfare Award at the Senior Job Week commemorative event held on the 23rd at the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel in Seoul.

The Yangsan Senior Job Creation Support Center is operated as a commissioned project by the Yangsan Welfare Foundation. As of the end of August 2024, the center has supported employment for 1,033 seniors aged 55 and above and facilitated employment connections with private companies.

The Senior Internship Project, which received this honor, is a 100% government-funded program (253 locations nationwide) that promotes employment for seniors aged 60 and above by providing wage subsidies to companies that hire seniors in need of jobs. This encourages continued employment. The Yangsan Senior Job Creation Support Center achieved excellent results in areas such as job placement achievement rate, average monthly wage per person, continued employment rate, participant education, and post-management of continued employees, securing first place nationwide.

An official from Yangsan City stated, "With the rapidly increasing elderly population, we will not rest on our laurels with this award but will continue to provide tailored job opportunities for seniors in need and strive to improve the quality of life in old age."
