Free Flu Vaccinations for Children, Pregnant Women, and Seniors in Dongdaemun-gu

Dongdaemun-gu, Check Vaccination Start Dates for Over 100,000 People from Late This Month to April Next Year Before Visiting

Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) announced on the 23rd that free flu vaccinations will be provided at 184 designated medical institutions in the area from the end of September until April next year.

The vaccination targets are children aged 6 months to 13 years (born between January 1, 2011, and August 31, 2024), pregnant women (regardless of gestational age), and seniors aged 65 or older (born on or before December 31, 1959) who are at high risk of severe illness from influenza infection. Vaccinations are available regardless of the recipient's place of residence.

Additionally, among Dongdaemun-gu residents aged 14 to 64, free vaccinations are available for basic livelihood security recipients, persons with severe disabilities, national merit recipients themselves, and patients registered at public health centers with AIDS or tuberculosis.

Since the vaccination start dates differ by target group, it is essential to check the vaccination period before visiting a medical institution.

Vaccinations have been administered since the 20th for children aged 6 months to under 9 years who have no vaccination history or have only received one dose previously.

Other children and pregnant women can receive vaccinations starting October 2.

For seniors aged 65 and older, vaccinations will be conducted sequentially by age group to prevent initial congestion. Those aged 75 and older can visit medical institutions starting October 11, those aged 70 to 74 from October 15, and those aged 65 to 69 from October 18.

Basic livelihood security recipients, national merit recipients, and others can receive vaccinations only at designated medical institutions in Dongdaemun-gu from October 14 to November 29.

Designated medical institutions can be confirmed on the Dongdaemun-gu website (District News). When visiting a medical institution, individuals must bring identification and supporting documents such as a resident registration certificate (for children), maternity handbook (for pregnant women), or certificates for vulnerable groups.

Lee Pil-hyung, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, “We hope everyone has a healthy autumn and winter through active vaccination.”
