Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, Industry's First to Use Public MyData for Insurance Operations

On the 23rd, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance announced that it will be the first in the industry to utilize public MyData provided by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety for insurance business processing.

Public MyData is a service that provides personal information held by public and administrative institutions to the data subject or a designated party upon request. The insurance bundled information service applying public MyData consists of 28 types of personal information, including resident registration certificates and family relation certificates.

By utilizing public MyData, customers can reduce the hassle of submitting certificates required when applying for or claiming insurance. Insurance companies receive the certificates in data form, enabling faster and more accurate processing.

Since September, Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance has simplified document submission and secured system stability by using two types of personal information to verify the relationship between the driver and the insured during automobile claim processing. Based on this, the company plans to expand the use of public MyData to long-term insurance, general insurance operations, contract cancellations, and call center contract management tasks related to insurance premium refunds.

A Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance official stated, "We plan to expand the administrative information available for use through consultations with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety and the Korea Credit Information Services, so that customers can conveniently receive insurance services in more areas."
