Coway's sales of ice water purifiers from April to July this year increased by 40% compared to the same period last year. Leading this growth is the 'Icon Ice Water Purifier,' an innovative product that offers abundant ice quantity in a compact size. With a size approximately 40% smaller than Coway's existing ice water purifiers, it was already the smallest ice water purifier in Korea when first launched in 2022. Despite the reduced size, Coway increased the ice tank capacity to 0.74 kg to provide the rich ice that is the most important purchasing factor for ice water purifiers. Considering that the ice tank capacity of Coway's existing home ice water purifiers is 0.4 kg, the product size was reduced by half, but the ice capacity was nearly doubled.

Coway improved the ice-making speed through its patented dual rapid ice-making technology. The ice-making time, which used to take about 20 minutes for the model ice water purifiers, was drastically reduced to 12 minutes. Thanks to the faster ice-making time, the ice production volume also increased. It can produce up to 5 kg, about 600 pieces of ice per day. This amount is twice that of large bagged ice sold on the market. Even with high ice usage, there is no shortage. The reduced ice-making time also decreases energy consumption, maximizing energy efficiency. This is due to the efficient improvement of refrigerant movement in the ice evaporator, the core component that produces ice. Despite its enhanced ice-making performance, it achieved the highest energy efficiency rating of Grade 1, reducing the actual electricity cost burden for consumers.

Coway also equipped the Icon Ice Water Purifier with functions that allow users to control the hot water temperature and dispensing volume as desired. This was developed to enable customized control according to user lifestyles, reflecting the trend of hyper-personalization in the home appliance market.
