The Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency has obtained the International Standard Anti-Bribery Management System (ISO 37001) certification from the Small and Medium Venture Business Certification Institute.
On the 23rd, Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency announced that it held the ‘ISO 37001’ certification awarding ceremony at the Vision Room of the Gyeonggi-do Economic Science Promotion Agency in Gwanggyo, Suwon, attended by Kang Seong-cheon, Director of the Agency, and Eom Jin-yeop, Director of the Small and Medium Venture Business Certification Institute.
ISO 37001 is an international standard established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) that evaluates an organization’s anti-corruption policies, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and improvement activities. This certification verifies that the organization has established policies and procedures to systematically manage and respond to corruption risks. Its value is increasingly highlighted alongside the growing importance of ESG management.
The Agency has built an anti-corruption management system through measures such as ▲the institution head’s commitment to anti-corruption management ▲improvement of corruption-prone areas through labor-management cooperation ▲operation of an integrity leader council to spread a culture of integrity.
In particular, in March of this year, the Agency reinforced its commitment to creating an honest organizational culture through the ‘GBSA Employees Integrity Campaign.’ Additionally, it introduced various anti-corruption, integrity, and human rights management policies, including an internal audit system, integrity mileage system, anti-corruption integrity education for employees, visiting integrity meetings, integrity citizen auditor system, and operation of an internal reporting center.
Kang Seong-cheon, Director of the Agency, emphasized, "This ISO 37001 certification is an important achievement that officially recognizes the anti-corruption and ethical management efforts of our institution’s employees," adding, "We will continue to grow as an institution that small and medium venture businesses in Gyeonggi-do can trust."
Earlier, on the 13th, the Agency received the Grand Prize in the organization category at the 13th Gyeonggi-do Integrity Awards for its efforts to establish a clean public service culture by enhancing response capabilities to corruption through ‘Corruption Response Simulation Training’ and increasing understanding of corruption and public interest reporting.
