Global ICT Experts Coming to Korea... GSMA-Hosted Event on July 1-2

M360 is a mobile conference hosted annually by GSMA since 2013. It selects agendas from various regions including Asia, Europe, South America, and Africa regarding the mobile industry ecosystem and industrial environment, where global information and communication technology (ICT) experts share opinions on development directions. In the Asia-Pacific region, the event is called M360 APAC. Following last year, M360 APAC will be held again in South Korea this year, with KT, a GSMA board member, serving as the host sponsor for the second consecutive year.

This year’s M360 APAC agenda is 'Digital Nation Development through Artificial Intelligence (AI).' Major domestic and international ICT companies such as KT, Samsung Electronics, Reliance, Telstra, as well as key figures from the Ministry of Science and ICT, Korea Telecommunications Operators Association (KTOA), and academia will discuss the future of the AI era, including customer experience, AI innovation, and next-generation networks (5G Advanced and 6G).

At the opening keynote on the first day, KT CEO Kim Young-seop will deliver a presentation titled 'The Role of Telecom Operators in Promoting Collaborative Innovation,' showcasing South Korea’s AI technology and ICT capabilities to the world. The event will also feature congratulatory remarks from Minister Yoo Sang-im of the Ministry of Science and ICT, and keynote speeches by GSMA Secretary-General Mats Granryd, Samsung Electronics Network Business President Kim Woo-jun, and Reliance India President Matthew Ommen.

In addition to the keynote speeches, individual sessions will be held where KT’s Lee Jong-sik, Head of Network Research Institute, Choi Kang-rim, Head of Mobility Business Unit, and Bae Soon-min, Head of AI2X Lab, will present on topics related to AI-based digital backbone construction, smart mobility, and the impact and application cases of AI.

Besides technology and business-related sessions, policy sessions and discussions will also take place. Global telecom operators and policy experts are expected to discuss topics of high global interest in telecommunications policy, including network investment sharing, joint contributions from ICT ecosystem members, and 3G network optimization.

KT will set up an exhibition hall at the entrance of the M360 APAC venue to demonstrate AI-based medical technologies and 6G preliminary technologies, as well as introduce AICT convergence technologies from outstanding partner companies. Park Hyo-il, KT’s Head of Strategy Office (Executive Vice President), stated, "We plan to present customer-centric AICT technologies and strategic directions, including collaboration experience with big tech, AI strategies, and AI-based digital backbone construction." The event will be operated through pre-registration, and participation applications can be made via the pre-registration menu on the GSMA M360 website.
