Ulsan City Welcomes Delegation from Sister City Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam

Memorandum of Understanding Signed on the 23rd to Strengthen Cooperative Relations

Ulsan City announced that a delegation from its sister city, Khanh Hoa Province in Vietnam, will visit Ulsan for two days starting from the 23rd.

The Khanh Hoa Province delegation consists of 16 members, led by Nguyen Tan Tuan, Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee.

On the first day of their visit, at 10:30 a.m. on the 23rd, they will meet with Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-kyum to reflect on the friendship built over the past 20 years as sister cities and engage in a friendly conversation.

Following this, the two cities will sign a memorandum of understanding to strengthen their cooperative relationship and further develop their partnership.

The memorandum of understanding to be signed on this day is based on the sister city agreement established between Ulsan and Khanh Hoa Province on June 20, 2002, and includes content aimed at strengthening cooperation in various fields such as tourism, youth exchange, human resource development, and industry.

Delegations will be dispatched to the Ulsan Industrial Festival and the Khanh Hoa-Nha Trang Sea Festival in Vietnam, and exchange activities among youths and students from both regions will be supported.

At 2 p.m., the delegation will visit HD Hyundai Mipo, hold talks with the management, and discuss cooperation between Ulsan and Khanh Hoa Province in the shipbuilding sector.

They will then meet and encourage approximately 200 workers from Khanh Hoa Province who are currently undergoing technical training at HD Hyundai Mipo.

These workers from Khanh Hoa Province were selected from HD Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of HD Hyundai Mipo located in Khanh Hoa Province, and are receiving shipbuilding-related technical training for one to two years.

On the second day of the visit, at 2 p.m. on the 24th, the delegation will visit the University of Ulsan, meet with Vice President for Industry-Academia Cooperation Lee Jaeshin, and discuss exchange programs between university students from Ulsan and Khanh Hoa Province.

Mayor Kim Doo-kyum said, "In 2022, we welcomed the first foreign delegation of the 8th popularly elected administration from Khanh Hoa Province, and I am pleased to welcome them again this year. As this year marks the 22nd anniversary of the sister city relationship between Ulsan and Khanh Hoa Province, I expect this visit will serve as an opportunity to further advance cooperation between the two regions."

Khanh Hoa Province, located on the south-central coast of Vietnam, has an area of 5,197 square kilometers and a population of about 1,336,000. The well-known tourist city of Nha Trang serves as the provincial capital.
