Hillstate Unveils 'Parking Lot Wayfinding' Design with Enhanced Consideration

Hyundai Construction announced on the 23rd that it has completed the development of ‘Here & Somewhere,’ a navigation aid for underground parking lots, and plans to gradually apply it to Hillstate underground parking lots starting next year.

‘Here & Somewhere’ features a combination of 'universal design,' which helps anyone easily and clearly understand information regardless of gender, age, nationality, or disability, with a function that guides navigation within specific zones.

Colors were selected to be easily distinguishable even for those with color blindness according to the importance of information, and fonts with enhanced readability and legibility were used to consider the intuitiveness for the elderly or visually impaired. Additionally, cognition was strengthened so that children who cannot read or foreigners can directly understand information through various pictograms.

To achieve this, Hyundai Construction signed a business agreement with KCC, a company with competitiveness in the field of color, and applied a typeface developed by the Korea Disabled Development Institute.

A Hyundai Construction official said, "In dark underground parking spaces, residents often experience confusion due to many pillars and mixed information, but this design will make movement much easier," adding, "It is also expected to be effective in preventing daily safety accidents with safety-colored emergency bells and fire hydrants."
