Yeongdeungpo-gu (Mayor Choi Ho-kwon) announced that two awardees won the Grand Prize and Gold Prize respectively in the senior category of the ‘National Happiness IT Competition’ held at the Baekbeom Kim Koo Memorial Hall on the 10th.

Hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the National Information Society Agency, the ‘National Happiness IT Competition’ has been held since 2003 to motivate information education for the information-disadvantaged groups and to spread digital inclusion awareness. Social members who may face difficulties in using digital technology, such as multicultural families, people with disabilities, and the elderly, participate to compete in their digital device and service utilization skills including digital information search, practical service use, and document creation.

This competition was conducted in two stages: preliminaries held at base test centers in 17 metropolitan cities and provinces nationwide, and the finals. The final competition was held for finalists who passed the preliminaries, focusing on three themes: ▲Digital Problem Solving ▲Digital Life ▲Digital Social Participation. Participants demonstrated their digital utilization skills by completing various tasks such as information search for problem-solving, using practical digital services like finance, transportation, shopping, and delivery, and document creation using PCs and mobile devices.
