The autumn rain has eased the heatwave, but with Typhoon Pulasan No. 14 approaching, heavy rain is expected nationwide. As heavy rain warnings expanded in the Chungcheong and Gyeongsang regions, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety raised the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters from level 1 to level 2 on the 21st.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration's Weather Nuri information on the 21st, strong and heavy rain is expected across the country. Strong winds are anticipated mainly along the southern coast and Jeju Island. Rain will fall in the Seoul metropolitan area and inland Gangwon until late afternoon (3?6 PM), in the Chungcheong and Jeolla regions until evening (6?9 PM), and in the Gyeongsang region until night (9 PM?midnight).

Heavy rain warnings were also issued nationwide in the early morning. Areas under heavy rain warnings include Wanju-gun in Jeonbuk Autonomous Province at 8:10 AM, Yeongdong-gun in Chungbuk Province at 7:30 AM, Sangju-si in Gyeongbuk Province at around 6 AM, Boeun-gun and Okcheon-gun in Chungbuk Province, Gunsan-si and Iksan-si in Jeonbuk Autonomous Province, and the mountainous areas of Jeju Island at 5 AM.

The Korea Meteorological Administration advised, "Very strong and heavy rain is expected," urging caution against camping in valleys or upstream rivers, flooding of farmland and irrigation channels, rapid currents, landslides and soil erosion, facility collapses, and to be careful of facility management and safety accidents caused by gusts of wind.

Although the heatwave has somewhat subsided, Jeju Island, where a heatwave advisory is still in effect, is expected to have a maximum apparent temperature around 33 degrees Celsius today, making it hot. The southern coast and the western coast of Jeolla will also see maximum apparent temperatures around 31 degrees Celsius, with tropical nights expected mainly in these areas. Morning temperatures are 17°C in Seoul, 23°C in Daejeon, and 25°C in Busan, while daytime temperatures will be 23°C in Seoul, 25°C in Daejeon, and 28°C in Busan, about 3 to 7 degrees lower than yesterday.
