On the 20th, Honam University held an opening ceremony for the Humanities and Social Convergence Talent Development Project Group (HUSS, Director Song Chang-su) at Jiseong Hall and officially began project operations.
The opening ceremony was attended by Honam University President Park Sang-chul, Dean of the College of Social Management Lee Young-bin, Project Director Song Chang-su, Deputy Project Director Kang Hyun-joo, Professors Jeong Eun-sung (Department of Tourism Management), Shin Seon-hye, Kim Sook-jung (both from the College of Liberal Arts), Professors Noh Hyun-jae, Yang Dong-min (both from the Department of Business Administration), and other project officials.
The HUSS project group plans to cultivate approximately 2,500 convergence talents through collaboration among five universities: Honam University, Kwangwoon University, Kookmin University, Sun Moon University, and Yeungnam University.
This project will be conducted over three years and three months starting from June of this year. The core of the HUSS project is to produce talents equipped with problem-solving skills and convergent thinking through interdisciplinary education, focusing on providing students with opportunities for autonomous career exploration by integrating various academic disciplines.
Through this project, Honam University plans to actively promote various programs and research activities aimed at nurturing convergence talents in the humanities and social sciences.
