Kyodo News: "Likely to Discuss North Korea Issue"

Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko entered into coordination on the 23rd in New York with Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol and U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken to hold a trilateral foreign ministers' meeting, Kyodo News reported.

An official stated, "In this meeting, we will discuss countermeasures against North Korea, which continues to develop nuclear weapons and missiles, and confirm the plan for trilateral cooperation among South Korea, the U.S., and Japan to strengthen response capabilities."

Regarding this, Kyodo News reported, "If the South Korea-U.S.-Japan foreign ministers' meeting is held, it will be about seven months since they last met in Brazil in February," adding, "There is also expected to be an exchange of views on the Indo-Pacific region and the situation in the Middle East."
