At approximately 10:05 a.m. on the 20th, a 5-ton tanker truck traveling in the first lane toward Busan on the Namhae Expressway in Chilwon-eup, Haman-gun, Gyeongnam, lost its balance and tipped over to the left about 300 meters from the entrance of Haman 2 Tunnel.
According to the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Highway Patrol, the aftermath of the accident caused a traffic jam for over two hours in the area about 2 kilometers behind the accident site, but there were no casualties.
The tanker was carrying about 4 tons of by-products for animal feed, but none were spilled onto the road.
The overturned vehicle was towed away at around 12:40 p.m.
The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident, questioning the driver in his 60s, who stated that he swerved the steering wheel to avoid colliding with a trailer traveling in the second lane.
