U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harris is reportedly working with industry insiders to develop crypto-friendly policies to promote the growth of the cryptocurrency industry. Meanwhile, the cryptocurrency sector has shown strong support for the Republican presidential candidate, former President Donald Trump. With about 40 days left until the election, Harris is seen as courting the crypto vote.

On the 19th (local time), according to U.S. economic media CNBC, Anthony Scaramucci, founder of SkyBridge Capital, revealed at 'Token2049' that Vice President Harris is collaborating with a group of cryptocurrency supporters, including himself, to develop digital asset-related election policies.

Scaramucci said, "Vice President Harris is listening to the opinions of cryptocurrency supporters," and that he is urging her to support crypto-friendly policies. He added that a discussion between Vice President Harris and industry insiders is scheduled for this week.

This is interpreted as Vice President Harris targeting the cryptocurrency industry as the election approaches its final stages. Under the Democratic Joe Biden administration, the cryptocurrency industry has faced difficulties due to various regulations and lawsuits. The industry even refers to Gary Gensler, chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) appointed by President Biden, as the "Grim Reaper." This is why the crypto industry supports former President Trump, who promised to abolish related regulations.

Vice President Harris has not yet taken a definitive stance on cryptocurrency. However, developing crypto-friendly policies is seen as a strategy to signal that even if she is elected president, the cryptocurrency industry will not necessarily face a downturn. Last month, during a campaign event in the battleground state of North Carolina, Harris sent a love call to the industry, stating regarding cryptocurrency, "If elected president, I will protect consumers and foster innovative technology by creating a stable business environment with consistent and transparent rules."

Meanwhile, former President Trump announced this month the launch of a decentralized finance project called 'World Liberty Financial,' led by his sons Trump Jr. and Eric. In an online discussion after the launch, he reiterated his commitment to actively promote the cryptocurrency business if re-elected. Earlier, in July, he pledged to nurture the industry as a keynote speaker at the 'Bitcoin 2024 Conference,' and on the 29th of last month, he also mentioned on his X (formerly Twitter) account that he would "make the United States the capital of cryptocurrency."
