The National Heritage Utilization Project is implemented to preserve local cultural heritage and widely promote its value. Through this opportunity, Gohung-gun plans to create an environment where residents and tourists can enjoy national heritage even at night.
Gohung-gun’s nighttime tourism project will be centered around Jonsimdang Historical and Cultural Park, and will operate various nighttime tourism programs using Jeonsimdang, the former Heungyanghyeon government office, along with Heungyanghyeon Eupseong, Okhari Honggyo Bridge, Gohung Hyanggyo Confucian School, Okhari Gomsal Pine Tree, and Namhwiru Pavilion, all designated national heritage sites of Jeollanam-do, as the main venues.
Additionally, the project will make full use of local cultural resources such as the birthplace of Cheon Kyung-ja, Gohung Art Center, and traditional markets to provide abundant sightseeing and experiential events.
Governor Gong Young-min said, “The selection for the ‘2025 National Heritage Night Tour Project’ is another achievement of Gohung-gun’s national heritage utilization projects following the ongoing national heritage media art at the Gohung Buncheong Culture Museum,” adding, “After the relocation of the old county office, the local atmosphere had somewhat stagnated, but this nighttime tourism project will serve as a testing ground to revitalize local residents and commercial districts.”
Governor Gong also stated, “Through this project, we will enhance the value of local national heritage and create opportunities to contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.”
