Yeungnam University (President Choi Oechul) announced on the 20th that alumni of the Department of Architecture have collectively donated funds to support their alma mater and juniors.
More than 40 alumni architectural firms from the Department of Architecture recently delivered a development fund of approximately 41 million KRW to the university headquarters, which was raised collectively as a token of love for their juniors. This fundraising effort began in conjunction with the 71st Graduation Exhibition of the Department of Architecture held at the Cheonma Art Center last June. The fund will be used to purchase educational equipment for the benefit of current students in the Department of Architecture.
Choi Myunghwan, a class of '81 alumnus and president of the Department of Architecture Alumni Association, said, "We gathered the support of seniors and juniors to give back even a little of the benefits we received from our alma mater. We are donating this development fund with the hope that our juniors in the Department of Architecture will become outstanding talents in a good environment," adding, "I hope this will help the growth of our juniors, and I will continue to support the development of our alma mater."
Lee Daejin, head of the Department of Architecture, said, "We are deeply grateful to the many alumni who have shown interest and made donations for the development of the Department of Architecture," adding, "With the donations from our alumni, we will provide an even better educational environment and devote ourselves to student education."
