A woman in her 60s who was pulling a cart for collecting waste paper died in an accident.
According to Ilsan Dongbu Police Station on the 20th, at around 4:55 a.m. that day, an SUV hit a woman, Ms. A, who was pulling a cart for collecting waste paper on a road in Seongseok-dong, Ilsandong-gu, Goyang City.
Ms. A was transported to a nearby hospital while receiving cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) from the 119 emergency medical team but passed away.
The police believe that the SUV hit Ms. A from behind while she was pulling the cart in the three-lane one-way road at the time of the accident.
The SUV driver, Mr. B, a man in his 70s, was found not to be under the influence of alcohol.
The police have booked Mr. B on charges including violation of the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents (causing death) and plan to investigate the detailed circumstances.
