Yongin City Signs Business Agreement with Confectionery Association to Expand Sales Channels for 'Baekok Rice'

Yongin City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the 20th that it signed a 'Baekok Rice Flour Supply Business Agreement' on the 19th at the mayor's reception room with the Yongin City Nonghyup Rice Cooperative Joint Business Corporation and the Yongin Branch of the Korea Confectionery Association to expand the market and enhance the brand value of 'Yongin Baekok Rice,' a representative local specialty.


The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Sang-il, Mayor of Yongin, Park Jong-bok, Head of NH Nonghyup Yongin Branch, Lee Rae-seong, Chairman of Baekam Nonghyup Cooperative, Kang Byung-won, CEO of Yongin City Nonghyup Rice Cooperative Joint Business Corporation, and Park Soo-hong, Head of the Yongin Branch of the Korea Confectionery Association.

According to the agreement, Yongin City will support the smooth supply of Baekok rice flour to confectionery companies. The Yongin City Nonghyup Rice Cooperative Joint Business Corporation will cooperate to maintain the quality of Baekok rice flour raw materials and determine reasonable costs, while the Yongin Branch of the Korea Confectionery Association promises to strive for product development and sales using Baekok rice flour.


Mayor Lee said, "Baekok rice, Yongin's representative specialty, boasts excellent quality, having won the grand prize at the '2024 Korea Rice Festa,'" adding, "We expect this agreement to be an opportunity for local stakeholders to coexist and to enhance the value of Baekok rice."


Meanwhile, the city plans to showcase various bread products at the 'Baekok Rice Bread Festa,' held as part of the '29th Yongin Citizens' Day' event at Yongin Mir Stadium from the 28th to the 29th.
