Historic Visit Concert in Goyang City Next April After 8 Years
Goyang Sports Complex Reborn as a Sanctuary for Large-Scale Performances
The world-renowned rock band Coldplay is coming to Goyang City for their largest-ever concert in South Korea.
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 20th that Coldplay's concert will be held at Goyang Sports Complex in April next year, hosted by Live Nation Korea and MBC.
The historic event will take place over four shows on April 16, 18, 19, and 22, 2025.
Coldplay, one of the most successful and influential bands of the 21st century, first visited Korea in 2017, leaving an unforgettable performance. Their world tour, which began in 2022, has sold over 10 million tickets worldwide, setting a record for the largest audience among all groups in history.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City stated, “During the concert period, our city will be filled with passionate fans from around the world,” adding, “We hope that hosting this historic concert will bring great vitality to the local economy.”
He continued, “Through cooperation with Live Nation, we have secured a large-scale concert that was previously concentrated only in Seoul, and we will spare no effort in active collaboration and support.”
Meanwhile, on the 12th, Goyang Special City and Live Nation Korea signed a business agreement focusing on hosting major concerts by global stars and other large-scale events in Goyang City.
