S-OIL Signs MOU with T'way Air for Domestic SAF Supply and Joint Marketing

First in Korea: International Certification and Regular Supply on Commercial Routes... Leading the SAF Economy

S-OIL (CEO: Anwar Al Hejazi) signed a memorandum of understanding for the supply of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) for commercial operations and a co-marketing business agreement with T'way Air on the 19th.

S-OIL Signs MOU with T'way Air for Domestic SAF Supply and Joint Marketing On the 19th, at the T'way Air Training Center in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, Jung Honggeun, CEO of T'way Air (left), and Ahn Jongbeom, Head of Marketing at S-OIL, attended the signing ceremony for the 'Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) Supply Agreement.'

S-OIL agreed to actively cooperate in supplying not only the SAF required for T'way Air's commercial operations on Japanese routes starting in September, but also any SAF needed in the future.

S-OIL and T'way Air also decided to collaborate on the overall SAF business, and will actively cooperate not only in supplying eco-friendly products but also in joint marketing and promotional activities between the two companies.

S-OIL and T'way Air have continuously carried out various collaborative marketing activities since March.

They have conducted events such as a friend referral event for T'way Plus membership members and produced collaborative videos. In particular, last August, they released a collaborative video featuring S-OIL's character "Gudoyle" traveling to T'way Air's five new European destinations (Rome, Paris, Barcelona, Frankfurt, Zagreb).

An S-OIL official stated, "We are making active efforts for the sustainable growth of the refining and aviation industries through collaboration with T'way Air related to SAF and co-marketing."

S-OIL is leading the market among domestic refiners by taking advanced steps in the production, international certification, and supply of SAF.

S-OIL CEO Anwar Al Hejazi expressed his commitment, saying, "S-OIL is actively responding to become a clean energy supplier that meets the global trend of decarbonization and contributes to building a resource-circulating economy."

In fact, S-OIL began full-scale production of carbon-reducing products this year by processing bio-based feedstocks (such as used cooking oil) at its refining facilities for the first time in Korea in January, and obtained international certification for sustainable aviation fuel (ISCC CORSIA) in April.

Starting in September, S-OIL will supply its self-produced SAF once a week to Korean Air passenger flights operating commercial routes to Tokyo, further strengthening the expansion of the next-generation eco-friendly SAF ecosystem.
