Dongducheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Park Hyung-deok) announced on the 19th that it recently held the 3rd Special Committee on Educational Environment Improvement in the city hall situation room to review the establishment of the 2025 Dongducheon City education expense budget.
At the committee meeting, a total of 49 projects, including city-led projects, the Future Education Cooperation Project planned in collaboration with the Future Education Team of the Office of Education, and Office of Education response support projects, were reviewed for the approval of 8.6 billion KRW in education expense support to be reflected in the 2025 main budget.
The agenda items reviewed included △ 20 city-led projects with 2.3 billion KRW support △ 10 Future Education Cooperation projects with 2.7 billion KRW support △ 14 Office of Education response support projects with 1.1 billion KRW support △ 3 provincial subsidy projects with 100 million KRW support △ 2 school meal support projects with 2.4 billion KRW support, totaling 49 projects and 8.6 billion KRW in support.
The committee members resolved to provide 8.6 billion KRW, an increase of 350 million KRW compared to this year, through in-depth discussions on new projects and education expense support budgets for 2025.
Im Kyung-sook (Deputy Mayor of Dongducheon City), the committee chair, stated, “The city will continue to support various projects to assist school curriculum learning and improve the educational environment to provide better educational opportunities for students and to further develop local education.”
