On the 19th, Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province conducted a safety inspection of the overall condition and operation of children's school buses at the temporary parking lot of the city hall, together with the Vehicle Safety Inspection Team of the Northern Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority and the Yangju Police Station. Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 19th that it conducted a safety inspection of the condition and overall operation of children's school buses at the temporary parking lot of the city hall, together with the Vehicle Safety Inspection Team of the Korea Transportation Safety Authority Gyeonggi Northern Headquarters and the Yangju Police Station.
This inspection, carried out according to the schedule for the second half of this year, was organized to prevent vehicle-related accidents involving children's school buses and to raise safety awareness among school bus drivers and operators.
On the day of the joint inspection, the team selected three school buses operated by local daycare centers and checked essential safety-related items concerning the main passengers, children, including ▲whether the daycare school buses were registered and operated properly, ▲whether comprehensive insurance was subscribed, ▲whether the safety education period was appropriate, ▲whether the driver completed the required training, ▲whether the safety driving record device was verified, and ▲whether the bus structure and equipment complied with standards suitable for children's bodies.
A city official stated, “We will continue to cooperate with related organizations to conduct on-site inspections of children's school buses, enhance safety awareness, and strive to create an environment where children and parents can commute safely.”
