Honam's Largest Camping Festival... Overseas Buyers Also Invited
Gunsan City in Jeonbuk announced on the 19th that it will hold the "2024 Saemangeum Auto Leisure Camping Show" for three days from the 27th to the 29th at the Gunsan Saemangeum Convention Center (hereinafter 'GSCO').
This event is the 5th edition of the largest camping festival in the Honam region, featuring domestic and international camping brands. It is hosted by Gunsan City, organized by GSCO, and sponsored by Jeonbuk Province.
It attracts numerous camping enthusiasts interested in leisure camping and is recognized as a representative regional comprehensive leisure expo.
This year, it secured national funding after being selected as a new regional trade exhibition under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's domestic exhibition support project. Overseas buyers from Indonesia, Vietnam, Mongolia, and other countries will be invited for in-depth consultations.

Gunsan City expects this expo to greatly help local participating companies struggling due to the recent economic downturn in developing new sales channels.
The expo has prepared various unique events targeting campers preparing for camping in the fall season when outdoor activities increase significantly.
It will showcase emotional camping goods and coffee supplies popular among the MZ generation at the Campnic (camping + picnic), presenting new joys of camping.
Additionally, there will be a camping car zone where visitors can see and experience the latest trends and new products such as leisure vehicles and leisure boats, as well as a camping food zone offering convenient meals (meal kits) and ready-to-cook sets for easy enjoyment during camping.
Over the three days, about 50 famous domestic and international brands will participate in prize events, cultural performances, fireworks shows, and other rich and diverse programs worth noting.
First, in connection with Gunsan’s local content, the "Saemangeum Local Festa," which combines Local Liquor (Camping Bar Festival), Local Culture (ALL Festa), and Local Market (Flea Market), will be held simultaneously.
In addition, visitors can experience distinctive local culture through the Camping Bar Festival enjoying local alcoholic beverages and barbecue, which have recently gained great interest among the MZ generation; the All Festa in Gunsan featuring local artists; and the Camping & Picnic Flea Market with local sellers.
Especially, at the GSCO outdoor exhibition hall, 50 camper teams will hold a "Camping Festa" for 2 nights and 3 days, providing a special experience for camping enthusiasts attending the expo.
A Gunsan City official said, "This event is not only for local residents but also an opportunity to strengthen stay-type tourism content targeting tourists from other regions," adding, "By creating tourism demand in related leisure industries such as marine leisure and fishing, it will be an important turning point to revitalize the local economy."
