Until April 30 Next Year... Targeting Children, Pregnant Women, and the Elderly
On the 19th, Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it will provide free influenza vaccinations to children, pregnant women, and the elderly from the 20th of this month until April 30th of next year.
The free vaccination targets include △infants and children aged 6 months to 13 years △pregnant women △residents aged 65 and older △medically vulnerable groups and other high-risk groups for influenza.
Hanam City will conduct vaccinations by dividing the schedule according to age and target groups to ensure smooth immunization.
Specifically, △(from September 20) those aged 6 months to under 9 years receiving their first influenza vaccination and requiring two doses △(from October 2) those aged 13 and under receiving one dose and pregnant women △(from October 11) those aged 75 and older △(from October 15) those aged 70 to 74 △(from October 18) those aged 65 to 69 △(from October 21) basic livelihood security recipients and national merit recipients aged 50 to 64, as well as severely disabled persons aged 14 to 64, can receive vaccinations until April 30 of next year.
Eligible individuals should bring identification and pregnancy verification documents (for pregnant women) during the designated period and visit one of the 147 designated local medical institutions or any designated medical institution nationwide to receive the vaccination.
The designated medical institutions can be checked on the Hanam City Public Health Center website and the Vaccination Helper site.
A representative from the Hanam City Public Health Center stated, “Influenza vaccination is the most effective way to strengthen immunity and protect health during the winter season,” and urged, “We ask all eligible individuals to carefully check the vaccination period and be sure to get vaccinated.”
